"In creating portraits of companion animals it is essential for me to also see my subjects through the eyes of their human companion. These wonderful and loving creatures are an integral part of the family and it is from examining both the human animal bond as well as the physical and behavioral characteristics of each animal that I derive my inspiration."
The artist lives and works in New York City with his wife Parvene Farhoody, an animal behaviorist and trainer, and their three-legged rescue dog Cassidy. Mitch's work is now sold at the William Secord Gallery in New York City.
